What is the Hamad Health Card?

The card grants residents access to:

• Subsidized medical services at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) facilities.
• Discounted prescriptions and emergency care.
• Priority in public healthcare services.

Note: It’s mandatory for newborns, expats, and Qatari citizens.

Eligibility

• Expats: Valid Qatar Residence Permit (RP) holders.
• Qatari Citizens: National ID required.
• Newborns: Parents must apply within 7 days of birth.

Required Documents

For Adults:

• Original Qatar ID + copy.
• Passport copy (with RP page).
• Passport-sized photo (white background).
• Completed application form (download from MOPH website).

For Newborns:

• Birth certificate from a Qatar hospital.
• Parents’ Qatar IDs + marriage certificate.
• Vaccination record (if available).

Application Process

1. Step 1: Log in to Metrash2 and select “Health Services”.
2. Step 2: Choose “Apply for Health Card” and upload documents.
3. Step 3: Pay fees online (QR 100 for new cards; QR 50 for renewal).
4. Step 4: Receive a confirmation SMS. Collect the card later.

For Newborns:

Submit documents at the Women’s Wellness and Research Center (WWRC) or PHCC. A temporary health number is issued instantly; the physical card arrives in 1–2 weeks.

Fees & Validity

• New Card: QR 100.
• Renewal: QR 50 (valid for 1 year, aligned with your RP expiry).
• Replacement (lost/damaged): QR 50.

How to Renew

• Metrash2: Navigate to “Renew Health Card” and follow prompts.
• PHCC Centers: Bring your Qatar ID and old health card.

• Double-check photo specifications (35x45mm, white background).
